From November 2025 to April 2026, Phuket becomes the stage for one of Southeast Asia’s most significant contemporary art events, Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025. Bringing together Thai and international artists, the Biennale transforms the island into an open, evolving gallery where contemporary art, landscape, and local culture intersect.

 

Art That Moves Beyond the Gallery

Rather than being confined to a single venue, the Thailand Biennale unfolds across multiple exhibition zones throughout Phuket. Artworks are placed within real communities, natural settings, and everyday public spaces, inviting visitors to encounter art as part of the island’s living environment.

This extended exhibition period allows visitors and residents alike to explore at a relaxed pace. Art is not something you rush through, but something you return to, discovered gradually as you move through different parts of the island.

Exhibition Zones Across Phuket

The Biennale is organized into several key zones, each offering a distinct atmosphere and perspective:

• Muang Phuket
  The cultural heart of the island, where historic districts, urban life, and contemporary creativity converge.

• Choeng Thale
  A historic coastal area where traditional lifestyles blend with modern development and open landscapes.

• Kathú
  Located in central Phuket, known for its layered history, once a tin-mining town, now transformed by culture and community life.

• Wichit
  A district that reflects everyday Phuket, combining local neighborhoods, cultural heritage, and emerging creative spaces.

• Chalong
  A creative zone connecting artists from across regions, offering contemporary works that re-interpret local identity.

• Rawai
  A relaxed coastal area at Phuket’s southern tip, shaped by fishing communities, the sea, and a slower rhythm of life.

• Phromthep Cape
  A dramatic natural landmark where art meets landscape, offering works set against one of Phuket’s most iconic coastal views.

 

Together, these zones turn Phuket itself into part of the exhibition, encouraging movement across the island and offering multiple ways to experience art in context.
